A lthough formally educated, poet and author JOE HENRY attributes much of his learning to his many years as a laborer, rancher and professional athlete. A renowned lyricist, he has had his words performed on more than two hundred recordings by artists ranging from Frank Sinatra and John Denver to Garth Brooks and Rascal Flatts.

His poetry has been performed for many years by Emmy and Tony Award-winning actors, Anthony Zerbe and Roscoe Lee Browne; and excerpts from LIME CREEK, Henry’s first work of fiction, have been adapted for the stage in critically acclaimed, Prelude to Lime Creek and Lime Creek Christmas.

In addition to his many music awards, Henry also received a National Conservation Achievement Award from the National Wildlife Federation “for the celebration of the natural world in his work,” and the Colorado Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts.
